SSGT Sniper Instructor Course

January 26, 2026 @ 8:00 am - January 30, 2026 @ 5:00 pm

Course Description

This 40-hour instructor course builds on the SSGT Precision Rifle: Operator and Precision Rifle: R.U.C.S. programs. By the end of the course, officers will be certified to safely train, coach, and mentor others using the proven training methodologies taught in the previous SSGT rifle courses.

The course begins with a review of Precision Rifle Operator and R.U.C.S. objectives and includes a demonstration of student proficiency. Officers will receive instruction in both classroom concepts and hands-on practical skills. Training includes:

  • Troubleshooting common precision shooting deficiencies

  • Field craft

  • Urban trade craft

  • Equipment use and evaluation

  • Methodologies for teaching and relaying technical information

Officers will also develop and teach a full lesson block, including instruction, practical application, and evaluation. Students are assessed on their subject-matter mastery and their ability to effectively communicate material to others.

Participants will also create a Precision Scoped Rifle Operator sustainment program tailored to their department’s logistical needs to ensure ongoing training and safety within operational environments.
