SUMMARY:Basic SWAT School
DESCRIPTION:Date: October 6 – 10\, 2025\nTuition: $400\nCourse Details:\nThis course is designed for individuals who have recently been assigned to a SWAT team and have little to no SWAT training. The course is a 5 day (50+ hours) course with two low light training evolutions. The course will begin Monday morning at 0800 in the classroom at the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Firearms Training Facility. \nCourse Topics:\nThe course will include\, but is not limited to: \n\nFirearms (pistol and carbine) day and low light\n Building/ Room Clearing (CQB) day and low light\nMechanical Breaching\nSWAT Legal Issues\nResponse to a Barricade Incident\n Response to a Hostage Incident\nHigh-Risk Warrant Service\n\nPrerequisites:\nStudents will: \n\nBe a peace officer or active military personnel and be able to provide agency ID on the first day of the course.\nHave a POST certification with the pistol and carbine\nHave carbines (both optic and iron sights) zeroed at 50 yards prior to arrival.\nHave weapon mounted flashlights for low light training.\nBe able to physically work long hours in adverse conditions.\n\nEquipment:\nStudents will need individual equipment used for SWAT operations to include: \n\nSWAT uniform(s) – To include long sleeve shirts\nBody armor (with rifle plates front and rear)\nHelmet\nCarbine – zeroed at 50yds (sling\, mounted flashlight and 3 magazines)\nPistol (mounted flashlight and 3 magazines)\nPistol belt (holster\, magazine pouch\, etc.)\n350 Rounds for pistol and 400 rounds for carbine\, NO “Green Tip”\n Clear eye protection & ear protection\nGloves\n\nOptional Equipment: \n\nIf available\, bring a M4 Simunition upper receiver or bolt conversion and a Simunition pistol or conversion as well as Simunition ammunition. If not available\, they will be provided for you.\n\nStudent Requirements: Students are: \n\nRequired to actively participate in all classroom\, range and practical exercises as part of their successful completion requirements.\nRequired to adhere to all elements of the firearms and CQB safety briefs. Students that violate the firearms and CQB safety briefs may be removed from course.\nRequired to pass the basic SWAT written test with a passing score of 80% in order to receive a course certificate of completion. Students that score below 80% will receive a certificate of attendance.\nLunch will be provided each day. Monday and Wednesday are long days and there will be a dinner break where students will be provided a sandwich and chips. There are refrigerators and microwaves available at the range for your use if needed.\n\nMedical:\nStudents with medical conditions that may impair their ability to participate in training are responsible for contacting their physician for medical clearance prior to participating in training. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office will not assume responsibility for any students who do not seek medical consultation prior to course participation. \nLodging:\nStudents looking for accommodations can find the closest in the city of Zachary. Our recommendation is Comfort Inn & Suites. The number there is (225) 286-4011. \nPayment Instructions:\nThe cost of the course is $400 per student and is limited to 24 seats. DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \n2-Gun Fighting Movement dives headfirst into realistic and relevant application of movement principles with both the Duty Handgun and Patrol Rifle. This course uses the information obtained from real LEO lethal force encounters to mold the drills to match realistic movement patterns. Safe application of dynamic movement drills is essential to this curriculum as officers cover turning\, short\, burst\, and long movement principles. With the Patrol Rifle we train on the integration of movement related to cover and the positional shooting that occurs around cover. Self awareness of skill and application of the correct technique to match the stimulus highlight the movements that occur as this course. DESCRIPTION:The Simunition® Scenario Instructor and Safety Certification Course is designed to provide critical training to instructors who will conduct reality-based training within their department. The course will provide hands-on instruction in scenario-based training program development and training methodology and will give practical experience to students on the best \nuse of Simunition® training products in a highly effective\, realistic\, extremely safe training course. \nSimunition® will provide converted training firearms\, FX® personal protective equipment\, all FX® and SecuriBlank® training ammunition\, FoF training ammunitionTM\, as well as training aids such as inert training props.
