DESCRIPTION:The Lafayette Police Department’s S.W.A.T. Team is pleased to announce that it will offer its 27th Basic S.W.A.T. School in Lafayette\, LA. This will be an intense six-day course\, which will provide students with a basic range of instruction in tactics and equipment. Upon completing this course\, students will have the basic knowledge of S.W.A.T. tactics. This will enhance their performance and duties as Tactical Operators. Students attending this training should be in good physical condition due to the profound schedule that has been developed. This training will require a physical fitness test first thing Sunday afternoon and physical fitness training every morning. \nThe physical fitness test will be at 1600 hours on Sunday\, November 10th at 400 Coliseum Dr. \nMinimum Physical Requirements:\n1) 1.5 mile run in the time of 13:35 minutes\, 2) 34 sit-ups in one minute\, 3) 26 push-ups in one minute\, 4) 2 pull-ups {no time}.\nIndividuals who do not meet the minimum requirements will not receive a certificate of completion but will receive a certificate of attendance\, if they choose to stay for the duration of the school. \nThe fee for this invaluable training will be $250.00 per person. DESCRIPTION:BASIC SWAT TRAINING COURSE\nApril 22 – April 26\, 2024\nThe Bossier Parish Training Academy is pleased to announce a Basic SWAT Course will be offered from April 22\, 2024\, to April 26\, 2024\, at our training facility. The class will be limited to 20 officers. Attached you will find the registration form\, items to bring\, and a dorm reservation form. Please complete all these forms and return them to our office for processing. This class is offered on a first come basis as is the dorm rooms that we have. There is no charge for the Basic SWAT Course but there is a $25.00 per night charge for the dorm room per officer. There are twin beds in each room\, a compact refrigerator in each room\, a full refrigerator and microwave with a coffee pot in the kitchen\, and Wi-Fi for the facility. There are restaurants near the dorms and also a truck stop that is open 24 hours a day with food service. Please return your registration as soon as possible so that your agency will not miss out on this excellent training opportunity. We look forward to training your personnel and making it a memorable training experience. \n-Captain Sarah Rhodes Academy Director \nForms to be completed and emailed to dbrossett@bossiersheriff.com \n\n\n\nBPSTA BASIC SWAT COURSE \nThis course will be a 50+ hour course designed for tactical\, narcotics\, and patrol officers who need basic swat or raid training.\nThis course will cover: Required Elements of SWAT intervention Slow and Deliberate Clearing Techniques Dynamic Raid Techniques Methods of Forced Entry Team Structure Basic Individual Movement Basic Team Movement Vehicle Assaults Professional Requirement: Less than Lethal Tactics Firearms Training Use of Chemical Agents CS Gas Exposure and Proper Gas Mask Usage Distraction Device Certification Raid Planning Ballistic Shield Introduction Low or No Light Training\nProfessional Requirement:\nStudent must be proficient with handguns and long guns\, i.e. rifles\, sub-guns and/or shotguns.\nAmmunition Requirements:\n500 rounds handgun\, 500 rounds long gun (rifle\, submachine gun\, shotgun or AR type). (If bringing a shotgun\, we recommend bringing 400 rounds birdshot\, 50 rounds slugs and 50 rounds buckshot). Minimum of 3 magazines for each handgun and rifle.\n\n\n\n\n\nEquipment List:Tactical equipment used by your department (i.e.\, body armor\, helmet\, gloves\, gas mask\, shield\, etc.)\, firearms and related equipment\, rain gear\, ear and eye protection\, and flashlights\, extra batteries for lights and optics. Sling (rifle or submachine gun)\, mag pouches\, weapon mounted light\nAdditional Equipment\, if available: Distraction Devices\, Smoke Grenades\, or CS Grenades\nDress: Agency SWAT uniform or appropriate tactical attire.

SUMMARY:Ballistic Helmet Training
DESCRIPTION:Training Objective: \nBusch PROtective will be hosting a ballistic workshop focusing on the DEA-FBI Ballistic Helmet Protocol V1.0-2019 \n\nBrief classroom ballistics training (Intro to DEA-FBI Helmet Protocol\, differences over existing NIJ Testing\, ballistic materials handling)\nOn-site shooting demo comparing 2 (or more) helmets side by side demonstrating performance in back-face deformation\, edge shots\, bolt shots & blunt trauma.
