DESCRIPTION:Overview\nDesigned to meet the demand for executive security both domestically and internationally\, this comprehensive course covers the most vital concepts of low to medium risk protective operations.  Students learn to develop plans\, conduct route and site surveys\, run motorcade operations\, perform foot formations\, and execute emergency immediate action procedures.  Teamwork is the key to success and the course emphasizes this by culminating in a realistic street scenario protection mission.  This is a physically and mentally demanding course requiring long days and maximum student participation.  Students should prepare accordingly. \nRegister Here \n5-day course – Slidell\, LA\n\n\nExperience Requirements\nThis is an advanced level class. The student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling\, weapon system familiarity\, foundational marksmanship skills\, and working from a holster. Must have successfully completed Handgun 104* or equivalent prior to taking this physically demanding course. \nStudents failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering. \nThis course is a prerequisite for High Risk Executive Protection Operations. \n*Students who successfully completed the 2-day course ‘Handgun 104: Introduction to Defensive Handgun Skills’ prior to February 2024 will have fulfilled the prerequisites necessary to enroll in any courses that require successful completion of either the 1-day ‘Handgun 104: Advanced Handgun Skills’ or the 1-day ‘Introduction to Defensive Handgun Skills’ course. \n\n\nCourse Outline\nUpon successful completion of this course\, the student will be able to: \n\nExplore the fundamentals of executive protection operations\nLearn from case study reviews\nConduct protective walking and driving formations\nUnderstand and establish defense in depth\nAcquire protection specific live fire skills using a semi-automatic handgun\nSelect and utilize cover and concealment with a principal\nDecide and utilize the appropriate use of force in the protective environment\nDiscover defensive tactics for protective personnel\nDevelop advance and site survey skills and techniques\nParticipate in a practical street exercise\n\n\n\nEquipment List\n\nHandgun in a major caliber such as 9mm\, .357 Sig\, .40 cal.\, or .45 ACP (semi-auto center fire pistols only – revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)\nHolster\nMagazine pouches\n3 magazines\nSturdy belt\nFootwear suitable for rapid movement and turning\nClothing suitable for training in any weather on outdoor ranges\nBusiness casual outfit for street exercise (collared shirt/suitable pants or female equivalent)\nWraparound eyewear\nNotebook\nRecommend electronic hearing protection or earmuffs and earplugs\n\nTuition includes free loan of firearms\, holsters\, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping\, NH\, New Smyrna Beach\, FL\, and Colorado Springs\, CO locations. \n\n\nAmmo\n\nEstimated round count: 400 rounds pistol\nFor Epping\, NH courses\, non-toxic\, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required – call for clarification\nLead core ammunition to be used on steel only\nNo green/brown tip\, armor piercing\, or surrogate rounds to be used on steel at any time\nAmmunition is available for purchase from the Epping\, New Smyrna Beach\, and Colorado Springs facilities only\n\n\n\nNotes\nThis is a physically and mentally demanding course requiring long days and maximum student participation\, prepare accordingly. \nDue to the nature of this course\, students may be asked to use their vehicles to simulate a motorcade for a more realistic experience.
